This specialized method of ownership — tightly regulated by the U.S. Department of Labor and the IRS — allows GO2 Partners to distribute profits to our employees, who can then purchase stock in the corporation, becoming owners. For those who may not be familiar with Six Sigma, the concept is actually pretty simple. It’s a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. The execution of Six Sigma is far more sophisticated. It requires a highly disciplined, data-driven approach to eliminating defects in a process.
Sigma is a statistical term. It measures how far a given process deviates from perfection. The bottom line is this: if you can measure how many defects there are in a process, you can systematically figure out how to eliminate them. To achieve Six Sigma, a process must not produce more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. A defect is defined as anything outside of clients’ specifications, while an opportunity is the number of chances for a defect.
The fundamental objective of Six Sigma methodology is to implement process improvements and variation reductions. This is accomplished through the use of DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) for existing processes or DMEDI (define, measure, explore, develop, implement) for new processes.
